Speed Blogging

Yipes a lot of time has gone by and I haven't kept up too well so I need to do a little speed blogging so here goes hang on Last week was fun Wednesday was my birthday and I wanted to go cross country skiing at a place about an hour away and Tom said that he would go work in the lodge if they had internet so I checked and they did plus Rachel happened to be in Truckee which is nearby and invited us for dinner so we went up there and uh oh it turned out to be closed on Wednesdays who closes on Wednesdays? and somehow I had neglected to look at that info so we went up the street to a mom n pop ski resort across the road from Sugar Bowl which was cheap which was great but there was no internet so Tom had to do other work which was just fine he said and since I hadn't brought my own skis expecting to rent xc skis back at Royal Gorge I got to try the newer curvy kind which were very nice I had a wonderful time and almost had the place to myself so it was very cool but Rachel called and said she had too much work to do for a meeting the next morning so we just went home after and then went to dinner at a terrific restaurant called New Moon Cafe where I had pumpkin ravioli and Tom had cassoulet with a big leg of duck on top (breath) oh yeah and I forgot to say that for my birthday Tom got me a beautiful new SLR Canon camera so COOL! (another breath) Then it was the NEXT evening that we drove back up to Truckee to have a fabulous dinner cooked by Rachel of fish broiled with a ginger honey sort of sauce that was TOO tasty with Megan and Karen who were also there especially since Megan lives there with the Tuckerthedog isn't he cute? and topping it off with brownies and Ben n Jerry's it was perfect we took a few pictures as you can see but I had forgotten to take EVEN ONE the day before We had a very fun evening with the girls as usual Then on Saturday I went to buy some yarn and some more bare root berry plants and I actually watched the Superbowl first time ever? the whole thing although I was also knitting the whole time mostly to see the commercials of course but it was also a great game even though I didn't care ONE FIG who won and I don't even like football for a lot of reasons but oh well so I didn't actually get the berries all planted until today You might know that we already had some blackberry plants from last spring, but I added two blueberry bushes four boysenberry plants my favorite and five raspberry plants including the trellis to hold them all up and since I had to use the PICK AXE to make the holes for everything I'm a little creaky at the moment but it's a good kind of creaky now we just need some rain or snow which they say is coming on Thursday and oh yeah CHOIR starts tomorrow night and I'm very happy about that it looks like we'll be doing a bit of opera which will be interesting now I'm going to go upstairs to make some soup (whew).
